All Radio Website Platform websites have Gravity Forms, and support the use of a reCAPTCHA widget. These widgets can be added to each form, and are designed to slow down spam submissions.

Spam submitted by a computer will be blocked in almost all cases, but spam submitted by an end-user manually will not be blocked. This is not a perfect solution, but does help reduce spam form submissions in many cases.

reCAPTCHA is a free service supplied by Google, and is subject to their own terms and conditions.

Step 1: Registering Your Site

The first step is to register your site with Google.

  1. Go to the Google reCAPTCHA portal
  2. Sign in with your Google Account
  3. Select reCAPTCHA v2 with ‘I’m not a robot’ checkbox
  4. Add your website domains to the list
    1. We recommend adding both WWW and non-WWW domains
    2. If your site is currently under development and has not launched, you will need to add both your development domain, and the launch domains
  5. Accept the terms of service

Google will now provide you with a Site Key and a Secret Key. Take note of these.

Step 2: Configuring WordPress Settings

  1. Login to your WordPress Admin dashboard
  2. Go to Forms > Settings
  3. Scroll down until you see the reCAPTCHA section
  4. Enter your Site Key and Site Secret, as supplied by Google
  5. Save the settings

Step 3: Form Setup

You need to add a CAPTCHA field to every form you wish to protect.

  1. Login to your WordPress Admin dashboard
  2. Go to ‘Forms’, find your form you wish to protect, and click ‘Edit’
  3. On the right side, press ‘Advanced’ and ‘CAPTCHA’.
  4. Save your changes by clicking ‘Update’

Now, you can open your form on your website and test it. Ensure the reCAPTCHA works as expected, and contact support if you have issues with this.
